Endpoint inventory queries

Ask structured questions about operating-system state. osquery exposes device information through SQL-style tables for scoped inventory and investigation.

  • Structured inventory. Inspect approved operating-system, software, and configuration tables.
  • Scheduled queries. Run a defined query set and collect results through a configured logger.
  • Focused questions. Query a specific aspect of a device during an authorized investigation.
  • Useful context. Join selected inventory observations with an existing security case.

A defined query pack, supported tables, reviewed permissions, and a collection destination. Query results provide evidence; they do not block malware or prove that a device is safe.
